This past Monday was the Kid's first doctor appointment. =) He didn't really like it very much. One reason being that he had to get naked in the freezing doctor's office. And the other being that he had to be awakened to go and I didn't have a chance to nurse him.
Anyway, the nurse took his measurements and weighed him. He dropped a few ounces, probably because my milk didn't come in until he was 4 days old. He was 7 lbs and 2 oz. When he was born he was 7 lbs and 5.9 oz. So he is slowly gaining back his weight.
He also lost half an inch in his height! LOL! The nurse said it was probably because his head was coned when he was born, which was totally true. ;) His height now is 20 1/4 inch.
According to his doctor, he is 75% for his height, 40% for his weight and his head size is 25%. This is his percentile based on the national average. Hopefully he stays above average for his height. I would feel bad if he is short like me... :(
The appointment went well, he is healthy and seems to be developing fine. Our next appointment will be when he is a month old.

Ohhh...that last picture makes me want to pick him up and love on him. Poor monkey. So cold, so bright, so hungry. So unlike life in the womb. What an adjustment for a little guy. :-(
ReplyDeleteaaaw!!!! wow this was your first appt? i thought usually you're supposed to see your pediatrician within a few days after being discharged? at least that's what our pediatrician said. i guess we'll see. =)
